When C was in the hospital my family came to visit him. While there my mom mentioned that she wanted to get my sister a walking stick. We told her that C can make really cool walking sticks and that way it wouldn't cost her as much to buy one. We then gave her options. Did she want her name? What would she like on the top? So she decided to have C carve a dog's head onto the top and then have her Name on the side. C just finished it and I think it looks great.

Officiating
Last night was fun. If not a bit intimidating. I got called to be the referee for the girls basketball games. My stake just has a ref from each ward do the officiating. I went early so I could watch the game before so I would get a little bit of a feel for it again. It was nice and relaxed. Tons of traveling and double dribbling, but that was ok. The ref didn't call them because he would have been there all night. After the game I went and talked to him and he said to be relaxed. It was just church ball.
So I get all ready for a nice easy game of officiating. YEAH RIGHT!! My ward has one of the most aggressive girls team in the stake. They full court pressed the whole game. We also played an aggressive ward. It was fun and I'm glad that the ref's don't do as much running and I'm in better shape than I thought. I told C that I wasn't going to run with the whistle in my mouth I was afraid I'd be huffin and that wouldn't be good. There was no huffin from me going on! Hopefully next week I'll be a little less nervous.

Christmas
I know I'm a little late posting this but I wasn't sure I was going to. My Christmas for presents was great. C n' I opened them all early and that was fun. However, C wasn't feeling to well so he went into the hospital for two weeks starting on the 19Th. It wasn't very fun to spend it in the hospital but I would rather spend it there so that he can get to breathing better.
I spent New Years with his parents. We played Phase 10 and Rummikub. It was fun. We then called and talked to C. I would of rather spent it with him but I guess that's how it goes. He is now home!! I'm glad. It has been snowing the last couple of days. It makes me sad to come back to work. I enjoyed the holidays. Well the not going to work part. That is how we spent our Christmas. I hope that 2009 is a great one.

Christmas Eating tips
1. Avoid carrot sticks. Anyone who puts carrots on a holiday buffet
table knows nothing of the Christmas spirit. In fact, if you see carrots,
leave immediately. Go next door, where they're serving rum balls.
2. Drink as much eggnog as you can. And quickly. It's rare.. You cannot
find it any other time of year but now. So drink up! Who cares that it has
10,000 calories in every sip? It's not as if you're going to turn into an
eggnog-alcoholic or something. It's a treat. Enjoy it. Have one for me.
Have two. It's later than you think. It's Christmas!
3. If something comes with gravy, use it. That's the whole point of gravy.
Gravy does not stand alone. Pour it on. Make a volcano out of your mashed
potatoes. Fill it with gravy. Eat the volcano. Repeat.
4. As for mashed potatoes, always ask if they're made with skim milk or
whole milk. If it's skim, pass. Why bother? It's like buying a sports car
with an automatic transmission.
5. Do not have a snack before going to a party in an effort to control
your eating. The whole point of going to a Christmas party is to eat other
people's food for free. Lots of it. Hello?
6. Under no circumstances should you exercise between now and New Year's.
You can do that in January when you have nothing else to do. This is the
time for long naps, which you'll need after circling the buffet table
while carrying a 10-pound plate of food and that vat of eggnog.
7. If you come across something really good at a buffet table, like
frosted Christmas cookies in the shape and size of Santa, position
yourself near them and don't budge. Have as many as you can before
becoming the center of attention. They're like a beautiful pair of shoes.
If you leave them behind, you're never going to see them again.
8. Same for pies. Apple, Pumpkin, Mincemeat. Have a slice of each. Or if
you don't like mincemeat, have two apples and one pumpkin. Always have
three. When else do you get to have more than one dessert? Labor Day ?
9. Did someone mention fruitcake? Granted, it's loaded with the mandatory
celebratory calories, but avoid it at all cost. I mean, have some
standards.
10. One final tip: If you don't feel terrible when you leave the party or
get up from the table, you haven't been paying attention. Re-read tips;
start over, but hurry, January is just around the corner. Remember this
motto to live by:
"Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of
arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to
skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, body thoroughly used up, totally
worn out and screaming "WOO HOO what a ride!"

Thanksgiving
Wow, This was a good holiday. We got to go to my families for Thanksgiving. We were only missing 1 sibling with his wife. Everyone else was there. It made for a very big crowd. I loved every minute of it. Thanksgiving dinner was very yummy. We had lots of conversations and played some games.
The day after however was very kaotic. We got up at 4 to go shopping. I actually love the holiday rush. C stayed in bed he hates it. We went to Walmart, Home depot, Kmart, Game Stop, Office Max, and JC Penney's. It was then only 9 so we called all of the guys that stayed home and decided that we should all go out to eat. It was good. I really enjoyed that. Then we went back to Penney's for a little more shopping. Then we had a double birthday party for 2 of my nieces, tried to go to Bolt but it was sold out so we went back to my mom's and played games.
Saturday was a good lazy day. We slept in. Went target shooting and then we went to Bolt. It was a funny movie and all of the nieces loved it. I had an awesome weekend and I loved every minute of it. Oh and my sister T got engaged. She is getting married on the 16th of January. I'm so excited for her. He is such a good guy.
